Earlier this year I attended the ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale) conference in Paris as a speaker. My lecture entitled Reading time: an overview of horological typography presented material from my Master’s dissertation from the University of Reading as well as material from more recent research. The lecture covers historical styles of typography found on timepieces as well as describes different technical qualities of horological typography.

ATypI’s Youtube channel has uploaded all of lectures from this year’s conference, they provide a wide range of subject matter so do explore there if you are interested in typography. The still images at the header and footer of this article were provided by Henrique Nardi.
