Lee Yuen-Rapati is a designer who specialises in watch and type design, as well as illustration. He holds a Master’s degree in typeface design from the University of Reading, and a Bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary design from NSCAD University. He currently works as a designer for the Fears Watch Company as well as maintains design consultancy services for other watch brands. Lee was inducted into the GPHG Academy in its inaugural year and remains an active member.

He is based in London, UK.

One Hour Watch

Lee started the One Hour Watch series in September 2014 to learn about watch design and to practice drawing techniques. The project involves creating a new original watch drawing every day in one hour or less. Most of the drawings are original designs, however the series occasionally focuses on caricatures or cartoons of iconic watches. While the series has moved from daily updates to more occasional drawings, the consecutive daily count reached 2869 drawings in the summer of 2022. You can see the entire collection on Instagram.
